Did he basically say that the Netherlands executes a whole bunch of people every year? "Involuntarily euthanized" that sounds like an execution to me. It blows my mind what american politicians can say during these election campaigns. I'm no expert on american politics but it seems they spend more money talking shit about other candidates than come up with reasons to why they themselves are good candidates. Like "Don't vote for him because X" Instead of "Vote for me because Y".

Yea, it's sad he got fired. He gets fired for using a poor word, but a cop that tazzes someone to death gets "Paid" suspension? I just don't get it. He will get a better job somewhere else hopefully.

Oh look a white guy defending a white guy. Boy am I surprised. If only you were Asian and could understand what being called a chink is like. We don't have any support in this country. Everybody "respects" the other minorities as some type of cultural fad. But when it comes to us "chinks" everyone can go balls deep because there's no consequence. Reminds me of a dodgeball game at school where a white kid screamed "YOU ASIAN!!" and everybody laughed. Different story if he had yelled "YOU BLACK!!"

Everyone seems to be arguing that the writer should have used a different word even if he didn't intend it as a slur, but honestly, I think that's just reversing progress. Clearly, this newspaper writer was not concerned with Jeremy's race and we're telling him essentially that he should be and that in his line of work, he has to treat Jeremy differently because of it. Isn't that racism? I would understand if this was a word that has only ever been used pejoratively, but the phrase is legit.

I didn't know there was a racist term like chink until a few months ago. Honestly I didn't get the pun until like today, I agree, it's not like he wrote Chink Drops the Ball or The Yellow Failure or anything close to what people think he did.

Very true, the editor is retarded lol. I just can't believe the guy lost his job, that's a really big deal. A cop shoots someone or does something messed up and he gets suspension with pay and this poor guy just messes up some words and gets fired? The world sucks balls :-(.

We could go on and on in that respect and grasp at strings and claim anything is racist, that's not the point I was trying to make. I think them firing him is VERY excessive, BUT I still think he should have just used common sense. That doesn't mean the guy deserved to get fired or that he even meant for it to be racist. I am sure it was just a mistake and a poor use of words, but it is, in fact, still a poor use of words. Especially in this society where everything is blown out of proportion.

Who are you to judge what is racist? You think ESPN just fire somebody without knowing what is racism or not? He is an adult, not a kid in high school. If he want to be a racist and do it in his own bedroom with his Asian wife is his business. He is dumb to think it's ok to do it on TV.
